Translation quality assessment (TQA) has recently become an issue that attracts concerns
and attention in Vietnam. Peter Newmark even emphasizes the crucial role of translation
criticism and translation learning. The author’s realistic writing style expands learners’
knowledge and understanding of their own and the foreign language and helps them sort
out their good ideas about translation. This paper clarifies subjective assessment remarks
